CARE Network New Provider Training
The deadline to register for this event is April 7, 2023.
The CARE Network invites all prospective CARE Network providers to attend the New Provider Training. Participation is required to join the Network but is also open to providers interested in expanding their knowledge about identifying & treating child maltreatment.
Faculty for this two-day intensive training include child abuse, community pediatric, nursing and behavioral health experts. This two-day training is specifically designed to help medical and behavioral health professionals provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art evaluations and assessments to children who may be the victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, or neglect.
Target Audience
The New Provider Training is oriented towards the following types of providers:
- Physicians (MD, DO)
- Psychologists (PsyD, PhD)
- Advanced Practice Providers (PA, NP)
- Licensed Behavioral Health Providers (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, APN)
- Nurses (RN practicing as SANE or FNE)
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to:
- Accurately screen for occult injuries and diagnose physical abuse through case-based learning.
- Exhibit appropriate use of forensic evidence collection kit in the assessment of child sexual abuse.
- Determine an appropriate treatment plan for a child with a positive behavioral health screen.
- Demonstrate trauma-informed best practice standards in behavioral health assessments for maltreated children.
Learner Outcome
At the conclusion of this event, participants will self-report increased knowledge related to improving patient outcomes.
