Concussion in the Classroom 3.0
The 6th International Conference on Concussion in Sport was held in October 2022, and the new consensus statement was released in June 2023. New concussion evaluation tools were provided, as well as updated Return-to-Learn and Return-to-Sport protocols were released. Educators and academic administrators in Colorado can benefit greatly from increased awareness and implementation of new materials and recommendations regarding students who are recovering from concussion. Early recognition and intervention of concussion treatments within the school setting can greatly improve both short-term, and long-term outcomes of pediatric (K-12) students.
