
28th Annual Abby Stoddard Lectureship
The Abby Stoddard Lectureship and Visiting Professorship at Children's Hospital Colorado provides faculty physicians, residents, fellows, nurses and other healthcare providers from Children's Hospital and throughout the Rocky Mountain Region healthcare community an opportunity to observe and discuss the latest clinical cases in pediatric neurology, neuroradiology, childhood stroke, hematology, pediatric neuro-intensive care, and rehabilitation.

Target Audience
The target audience for this activity includes physicians, fellows, residents, students, mid-level providers and nurses who have an interest in pediatric neurology.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to:
- List common causes of cerebrovascular disorders in infants and children who present with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes and understand the current options for hyperacute endovascular therapy for acute stroke, as well as emerging rehabilitation strategies for survivors.
- Identify the primary and secondary mechanisms that underlie ischemic brain injury and stroke in children treated with ECMO.
- Define some of the new EEG and neuroradiological techniques used for children with critical neurological disorders and brain injuries.
- Review current therapeutic approaches for focal cerebral arteriopathies in childhood.
- Define how socioeconomic determinants affect the outcome of children with arterial ischemic stroke and describe how chronic neurological illness can affect the short-term and long-term economic well-being as well as the emotional well-being of the patient, the parents, and the extended family.

We are excited to host a hybrid learning format for this year’s Abby Stoddard Lectureship in Child Neurology conference — participants can attend in-person at the Children’s Hospital Colorado conference center in the Oxford conference room or virtually via Zoom.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the limited in-person conference is only available for Children’s Hospital Colorado staff & University of Colorado Faculty Members. All attendees must adhere to current hospital COVID-19 rules and regulations.
For learners participating in the conference virtually, Zoom links will be provided one week prior to the event.
CURRENT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL COLORADO CONFERENCE CENTER COVID-19 GUIDELINES
As of August 4th, Children’s Colorado is requiring all team members to wear a face covering in previously marked team member areas, effective immediately. Face coverings are required in all conference rooms and team member meeting spaces.
Effective September 7th, food and beverages cannot be consumed in the conference center lobby or meeting rooms. All food and beverages can be enjoyed on the outside patio, cafeteria eating areas, break rooms, and offices.
