2nd Annual Nurses Leading the Way Conference - Where are We Going as Leaders: Every Nurse is a Leader SESSION 1

For the second annual Nurses Leading the Way Conference, we welcome Dr. Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN, President and CEO of the National League for Nursing. In Session 1: Finding Your Way as a Leader, Dr. Malone will discuss how all nurses are leaders regardless of job title and how nurses can find their way as leaders through engagement and core values. 

Target Audience

Registered nurses and other healthcare professionals from UCHealth, Children's Hospital Colorado, and University of Colorado College of Nursing. 

Learner Outcome

After attending this event, the participant will report increased knowledge on ways to build leadership skills through engagement and core values. 

Completion Criteria

Registration, attendance, sign-in, and submission of the evaluation are required for successful completion and receipt of the certificate of attendance.

This course will be held virtually via Zoom.

Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN, is the President and CEO of the National League for Nursing, past president of the American Nurses Association and the first African American general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing. Malone is a vocal advocate speaking to the role that nursing plays in ensuring access to safe, quality, culturally competent care to diverse patient populations, both domestically and globally. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati, a master’s degree in adult psychiatric nursing from Rutgers University, and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Wayne State University.

Children’s Hospital Colorado is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This educational activity for 1.5 nursing contact hour(s) is provided by Children’s Hospital Colorado. 

A certificate of attendance will be provided to others.
