33rd Annual O'Neil Pediatric Clinical Update
IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL COURSE
This conference focuses on assessment and management of common pediatric conditions in hospital, ambulatory and community settings. Current clinical issues and implications for children's health and practitioner care delivery are presented and discussed.
Target Audience
Interprofessional participation is encouraged for RNs, advanced practice providers, child life specialists, medical assistants, OTs, PTs, RTs, social workers, students, EMS providers and others interested in improving the care of infants, children, and youth. After attending this educational offering, participants will self-report increased knowledge of current and emerging trends in pediatric healthcare.
Learner Outcome
After attending this educational offering, participants will self-report increased knowledge of current and emerging trends in pediatric healthcare.
Objectives
- Identify three components of mental health and strategies for supporting each of these components.
- Explain the importance of medical record litigation.
- Discuss the structure and mandate of the Precision Medicine Institute and provide an update on current and past bodies of work.
- Explore various ways Children’s Hospital Colorado uses VR and Tech to help patients.
- Describe recent child health policy initiatives and to equip them with some of the basic advocacy tools to feel empowered to advocate for a better future for children.
- Discuss counseling and communication techniques for adolescents and young adults, including confidentiality.
- Explore differential diagnoses, management plans and hospital courses for patients presenting to the emergency department with urgent and emergent complaints.

The course will be held at the Children's Hospital Colorado Medical Conference and Education Center in the Mt. Yale conference room on the Anschutz Medical Campus. Virtual learners will receive a Zoom link via email prior to the event.

The Planning Committee reserves the right to alter the agenda or cancel the conference in the event of any unforeseen circumstance or if minimum registration is not attained by September 13, 2024. Refunds will be provided if the conference is cancelled.
