7th Annual Children's Hospital Colorado Virtual Pediatric Care Symposium
Overview, Target Audience, and Learner Outcomes
This virtual symposium is for interdisciplinary healthcare team members caring for pediatric patients in a variety of settings. We will provide clinical updates and address current topics relevant to the care for sick and injured pediatric patients.
After attending this education, learners will:
- Demonstrate increased knowledge related to the care of pediatric patients as evidenced by improvements in pre-post confidence scores.
- Explain pediatric management strategies through case studies.
Objectives
- Describe the impact of adolescent substance use on mental and physical health and apply evidence-based strategies to screen for and address substance use among pediatric patients.
- Review practical tools for assessing and managing pediatric respiratory distress through case-based examples.
- Illustrate how obesity, obesity medications and post bariatric surgery status in youth can impact evaluation and treatment including emergency care.
- Describe activation/deactivation criteria, transfusion management, and potential complications of a Massive Transfusion Protocol (MTP) for the different types of hemorrhage.
- Describe how to diagnose and manage re-emerging vaccine preventable diseases.
- Discuss evidence-based approaches to diagnosing and managing asthma, including the integration of SMART therapy.

There is no registration fee to attend this conference.
However, non Children's Hospital Colorado or CU School of Medicine employed physicians who wish to claim CME credit will be charged a $160 registration fee.
Children's Hospital Colorado establishes CME registration fees in accordance with federal guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations governing financial relationships in healthcare.
