Medication Discussion Guidelines

  • Use generic drug names whenever possible.
  • Brand name may be used once, then revert to generic.
  • Present balanced treatment options without bias.
  • If needed, list all relevant brands (not preferred).

  • Content may be available up to 2 years depending on relevance.
  • Review and update content as needed.

  • Host CE activities only on CHCO-approved websites.
  • Do not post or link on pharma/device company sites.
  • Advertising (banners, pop-ups, subliminal ads) is prohibited.

Voice Recording Guidance

  • Use PowerPoint voice recording tools.
  • Speak clearly and ensure good audio quality.
  • Maintain natural tone (avoid monotone or exaggeration).
  • Keep a steady pace (not too fast or slow).
  • Record in a quiet environment and test audio first.

Compliance & Content Standards

HIPAA

  • Protect all Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • PHI includes any identifiable patient information related to care or payment.

Sensitive Content

  • Avoid high-risk topics: politics, religion, gender, and race.

Content Review
