School Health Nurse Foundations #2
LIVE IN-PERSON ACTIVITY
Training #2 builds upon foundational knowledge to further develop the clinical skills of School Nurses and Childcare Health Consultants caring for students with medical complexities. Participants will receive focused education on gastrointestinal conditions, central line management, and behavioral health concerns commonly encountered in school settings. Through evidence-based instruction, hands-on learning, case studies, and Ask-the-Expert scenario discussions, attendees will strengthen their ability to manage complex health needs, support individualized care planning, and effectively train and delegate care responsibilities to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.
Target Audience
The target audience for this activity are School Nurses and Childcare Health Consultants providing care to students in the school and childcare settings.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this activity, learners will:
- Describe evidence-based assessment, intervention, and emergency response strategies for managing common pediatric health conditions encountered in school and childcare settings.
- Demonstrate safe and competent clinical skills in the management of pediatric health conditions, including gastrointestinal, CVC and delegated care, during hands on skills stations.
