Introduction to ECGs: The Peds Way
Overview
This course for the interdisciplinary health care team (RN, MD, EMS, and APP) provides a review of cardiac conduction and electrocardiogram (ECG) basics. Dr. Tsen discusses a standardized method to approach pediatric ECG interpretation. She also discusses the differences in infant, pediatric, and adult ECG normal findings.

Learner Outcomes
As a result of this activity, learners will be able to report new knowledge related to electrocardiogram (ECG) reading in order to provide current, evidence-based care to pediatric patients.

- Describe the physiology of ECG waveforms
- Verbalize a standardized method by which to approach ECG interpretation
- Name key findings in pediatric versus adult ECGs, and changes in the ECG that occur from newborn to adulthood
