This conference on pediatric infectious diseases will cover topics of interest to pediatricians, family physicians, and other primary care providers for children and young adults. Speakers cover the most recent information on diagnosis, management, and prevention of infections in pediatrics. Discussion of controversial issues and questions follow each presentation. 

Target Audience

This conference is designed for pediatricians, family physicians, and other primary care providers for children and young adults.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe changes in the epidemiology, clinical presentation, and prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases relevant to pediatric practice.
  • Apply evidence-based communication strategies, including motivational interviewing techniques, when discussing evidence-based recommendations, including vaccines with caregivers.
  • Identify strategies to support pediatric immunization delivery and effectively communicate current vaccine recommendations in clinical practice.
  • Apply current evidence and clinical guidelines to the diagnosis and management of common pediatric infectious diseases, including lymphadenitis and foodborne illnesses.
  • Implement principles of antimicrobial stewardship, including evidence-based antibiotic selection and duration recommendations for children. Recognize emerging infectious disease considerations and apply best practices in the care of special pediatric populations, including newborns with limited or no prenatal care.

The 28th Annual Pediatric Infectious Diseases Update will once again be offered in a hybrid format this year. We look forward to welcoming you both in person and virtually for another engaging and informative educational experience.
Conference participants should park in Visitor Lot #10 - Free parking is accessible from Victor Street only. Do not Park in the patient parking structure.

Please allow plenty of time to park and check-in at main entrance.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity and individual assessment of and feedback to the learner, enables the learner to earn up to 7.25 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics' (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
