At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:
- Distinguish obsessive-compulsive rituals from eating disorder pathology by assessing whether food- and body-related rules serve fear of weight gain, sensory/contamination concerns, or harm avoidance/distress reduction.
- Recognize how acute malnutrition and energy deficit induce cognitive rigidity and ritual entrenchment
- Understand the integration and sequencing of Family-Based Treatment (FBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to extinguish shared family accommodation and contain mealtime compulsions without compromising weight restoration.
