This virtual symposium focuses on the assessment and management of common pediatric conditions in the emergency and pre-hospital settings. Current clinical issues and implications for children's health and clinician care delivery are presented and discussed.

Learner Outcomes
As a result of this session, learners will be able to report new knowledge related to pediatric specialty practice in order to provide current, evidence-based care to pediatric populations.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss critical care components in pediatric cardiac arrest in the context of recent recommendations made by the AHA and the debate surrounding these recommendations.
- Discuss the presentation and management of several disease processes seen in children requiring the PICU.
- Describe an NRP- based approach to emergencies in the immediate neonatal period, including updates from NRP 8.
- Review the concept of hemodynamic compensation and methods to monitor compensation in real-time.
- Identify best practices related to care of the pediatric patient experiencing a mental health emergency including suicidal ideation.
- Discuss a multidisciplinary approach for best possible trauma outcomes through a case study.
- Identify the priorities in the initial management of the injured child.
