Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes
This course for the interdisciplinary health care team (RN, MD, EMS, APP) provides a review of the clinical pathways for the evaluation, treatment, and management of sudden cardiac death in young athletes. The course also includes case study presentations and discussion about for screening and recognition of cardiac disease.

As a result of this activity, learners will be able to report new knowledge related to sudden cardiac death in order to provide current, evidence-based care to pediatric patients.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the possible causes of sudden cardiac death in young people as well as what warning signs to look for and when to refer to cardiology evaluation
- Describe incidence, screening and prevention considerations for sudden cardiac death
- Review case presentations of pediatric patients with cardiac disease
