This conference combines clinical presentations, as well as reviews of available evidence for current practice strategies related to the anticipation, recognition, assessment, stabilization and acute and long-term care of the neonate.

Target Audience
This conference will be of interest to Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, NICU nurses, and other providers involved in the care of NICU patients.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the current evidence related to COVID-19 infection and vaccination in pregnancy, the neonatal period, and breastfeeing.
- Define key terminology relevant to transgender and gender expansive healthcare.
- Describe limitations in available evidence for the effects of perinatal marijuana use, and current recommendations for clinical care of mothers and newborns with marijuana exposure.
- Discuss the real evidence behind common vaccine related controversies encountered in the NICU.
- Describe new care models for the care of opioid exposed newborns.
- Discuss the physiology and updates in therapy following hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.
Learner Outcome
At the conclusion of this event, the participant will report increased knowledge and intent to change practice related to current best-practice and innovative solutions for patient care in the NICU.
