Children's Hospital Colorado Airway Management Lab- April 27th 1p-5p Session
This session is designed to enhance pediatric airway management.
Learner Outcome
As a result of this session, learners will be able to apply new knowledge related to pediatric airway management in order to provide current, evidence-based practice care to pediatric populations.
Target Audience
This in-person skills lab is for interdisciplinary healthcare team members caring for pediatric patients in the emergency and pre-hospital setting.
Learning Objectives
- Review common presentations of pediatric respiratory emergencies and initial basic and advanced life support interventions.
- Review upper vs lower airway emergencies.
- Demonstrate basic airway skills including oxygen delivery devices and bag valve mask ventilation.
- Demonstrate the procedure for various airway interventions to include suctioning, positioning, treatments.
- Demonstrate the procedure for endotracheal intubation of a pediatric patient.
A mask is required to enter Children's Hospital Colorado locations.
