Engaging Youth and Families in Fearless Conversations About Mental Health and Suicide: Screening of My Sister Liv and Post-Film Panel Discussion

The Physician Relations Lecture Series is an educational event offered periodically throughout 2024. Each session will explore specialized topics in the field of pediatric medicine, featuring talks and discussions from leading experts.
Join us for a private screening of "My Sister Liv" to honor Mental Health Awareness Month. This feature-length documentary film brings awareness to the youth mental health epidemic through the tale of one family facing a tragedy and its aftermath. Children's Hospital Colorado team members are invited to attend the screening virtually. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion about challenges, opportunities, and solutions in youth mental health.
Target Audience
Physicians, Advanced Practice and other interested Community healthcare providers and clinicians
Learning Objectives
- Recognize prevalence rates of mental health concerns and suicidality in youth.
- Discuss effective approaches to engaging in conversations with youth and families about suicide.
- Review treatment recommendations and resources available for suicidal youth and families.
The screening of, "My Sister Liv" and post-film panel discussion will take place virtually via Zoom. Zoom information will be provided after registering for the event.
