The Mental Health Crisis and Trauma Informed Care
This course for the interdisciplinary health care team (RN, MD, EMS, and APP) provides an overview of the mental health crisis and benefits of trauma informed care. Dr. Lauren Eckhart and Lyndsay Gaffey describe the gaps in care for children requiring mental health care and management. They describe trauma informed self-care strategies. Lyndsay and Dr. Eckhart suggest a variety of strategies to prepare, stay grounded, and help patients and their families cope with trauma.
