Target Audience: Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, RNs, and other health professionals involved in the care and management of pediatric cardiac diseases.
Global Objectives:
- Identify and review clinical indications for heart transplant in end stage heart failure and complex congenital heart disease.
- Didactic discussion of the clinical presentation and treatment of pediatric cardiac disease processes and heart transplant rejection.
- Discuss complications of immune suppression.
- Differentiate the testing modalities and how they are utilized in conjunction with the clinical picture, in the decision making process for management of the heart transplant recipient, including coronary evaluation.
