Training #3 builds upon foundational knowledge to further develop the clinical skills of School Nurses and Childcare Health Consultants caring for students with medical complexities. This educational activity provides evidence-based guidance, practical strategies, and hands-on learning experiences to strengthen the assessment, management, and care coordination skills necessary to support students with specialized healthcare needs in the school setting. Participants will learn current best practices for caring for students with tracheostomies, ventilators, oxygen support needs, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), and school-based medical emergencies. Through didactic presentations, hands-on skill stations, and case-based discussions, school nurses will gain knowledge and skills that can be immediately applied in practice to improve student safety, health outcomes, and readiness to learn.
