11th Annual Quality Improvement Symposium
Welcome Children's Hospital Colorado Learners!
Hosted by: Children’s Hospital Colorado, Center for Clinical and Operational Excellence (CCOE) for Children's Hospital Faculty and Staff Only.
This Hybrid activity will provide the opportunity to join live workshops in-person or virtually with provided options.
All team members and faculty are welcome to join this year's Quality Improvement (QI) Symposium which will feature a poster session showcasing improvement projects implemented across the system of care over the past two years. Following the poster session, teams selected as Top Posters will deliver podium presentations. These will be followed by breakout sessions designed to help participants develop skills applicable to future quality improvement initiatives.

Poster Session
Mt. Yale and Mt. Princeton (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
The poster session will showcase nearly 80 posters highlighting improvement projects implemented in the hospital over the past two years.
Podium Presentations
Mt. Oxford and Virtually via Zoom (12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.)
This year’s Top Poster recipients will share insights into their quality improvement projects, including how they successfully implemented them and achieved meaningful impact.
Breakout Sessions
In-person at the Conference Center and Virtually via Zoom (1:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.)
The breakout sessions will offer a range of quality improvement topics tailored to both introductory and intermediate/advanced levels. These sessions will be facilitated by our process improvement specialists and subject matter experts.
1:05 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.:
- Overcoming Common Roadblocks in QI Projects
- Integrating High Reliability Principles in QI Projects
- Engaging Patient and Family Experience in QI Initiatives
2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.:
- Doing QI With an Equity Lens
- Best Practices for QI Project Sponsorship
- Data Science, Predictive Analytics, and AI Opportunities in QI
Target Audience
Physicians, Nurses and Allied Healthcare professionals interested in the quality improvement of health care.
Learning Objectives
1. Apply foundational and advanced quality improvement methodologies and tools to design and implement improvement initiatives.
2. Analyze successful QI projects to identify key factors that contribute to their success and sustainability and apply the learnings to their own projects and initiatives.

The poster and keynote sessions will be held at the Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) on the 2nd floor Medical and Education Conference Center:
