2023 Western Colorado Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinators Seminar
A seminar for both EMS and Emergency Department Pediatric Care Coordinators and for all caregivers ready to advocate for improved pediatric emergency care.
Target Audience
This course welcomes physicians, nurses, EMS, and other emergency care providers in Colorado.
Learning Objectives
- Describe ways to manage stress reactions in children
- Review how to address distress in children, caregivers/families, and healthcare professionals
- Discuss techniques for dealing with different behaviors from children and families
- Review definitions of human trafficking
- Identifying risk factors for human trafficking and trauma informed approach to care
- Discuss resources for identifying and reporting human trafficking
Learner Outcome
After attending this educational program, participants will report increased knowledge in the concept of trauma-based care and how to screen for victims of child maltreatment.
Completion Requirements
Registration, attendance, and completion of the evaluation are required to obtain contact hours and a certificate of completion.
