6th Pediatric Echocardiography Symposium: Foundations of Congenital Echocardiography
Target Audience
This virtual conference will focus on the foundations of echocardiography in congenital heart disease. The course has been designed to combine lectures, panel discussions, and case studies. Children’s Hospital Colorado pediatric cardiologists, fellows, and sonographers will lead the lectures, sharing their expertise in the diagnosis and scanning of congenital heart disease. Target audience includes adult sonographers, cardiology fellows, and pediatric sonographers wanting to increase their experience with pediatric echocardiography and congenital heart disease.
Learning Objectives
- Identify important imaging goals in congenital heart disease
- Define the anatomy and abnormalities of the atrial septum, the ventricular septum, coronary arteries, pulmonary veins, and the aortic arch
- Review the effects of pulmonary hypertension on cardiac structure and function
- Describe standard pediatric echo scanning views
- Define strategies to optimize echo imaging quality in the pediatric population
