Learning Objectives
- Identify common causes of dizziness, headaches, and paroxysmal movements in children and apply appropriate diagnostic and initial management strategies.
- Differentiate between epileptic and non-epileptic seizures and describe initial approaches to common childhood epilepsy syndromes.
- Recognize symptoms and pathophysiology of autonomic dysfunction and implement basic management strategies in primary care settings.
- Describe gait abnormalities and functional seizure presentations in pediatric patients and determine when referral to neurology is warranted.
- Explain the role of pediatric neuropsychologists and identify appropriate indications and processes for referral to neuropsychological evaluation.
