Children's Hospital Colorado Sports Medicine Center Continuing Education Series - Medial Epicondyle Apophysitis and Avulsion Fractures
This course will enhance your recognition and rehabilitation practices following medial epicondyle injuries in throwing athletes.
Learning Objectives
1. Discuss incidence of medial elbow pain in youth/adolescent athletes
2. Review relevant clinical anatomy of upper extremity
3. Discuss and recognize risk factors that contribute to medial elbow pain
4. Discuss evidence-based treatment and recommendations following diagnosis of medial elbow apophysitis
5. Review return to sport guidelines for athletes diagnosed with medial elbow apophysitis

Marissa is originally from Longmont, CO. She obtained her undergraduate education at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO, where she was also a member of the NCAA women’s basketball team. After completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in Omaha, NE in 2018, she went on to complete a sports residency at Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, TX. She received her board certification in Sports in March of 2020. She is passionate about all things sports (especially our Denver teams!). In her free time, she enjoys hiking, working out, and playing with her dog.
