Forging Pathways for Better Outcomes: Engaging Community For Coordinated Care in Children With Cleft Lip and Palate
By attending this conference, you will be provided information on how to evaluate a newborn with cleft lip and/or palate in a hospital setting regarding airway, feeding, and discharge criteria for your most complex cases. We will also share our recommendations on follow-up protocols or the need to transfer your patient to a Children’s Hospital.
Our presenters will also provide an in-depth overview of the guidelines set forth by the American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association (ACPA) Parameters of Care, identifying efficiencies in clinical care and how to access resources for patients/families.
Target Audience
The target audience for this course are both Internal faculty members and community physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists and members of the Orthodontic and Dental Communities.

- Explain the advances in Cleft Care and surgical management in this patient population.
- Describe the how craniofacial orthodontics aids in preparing for bone graft surgeries.
- Describe the current use of mindfulness for patients, families and caregivers.
