Immune Dysfunction in Critical Care and Considerations For Use of Immunomodulating Therapies

The BloodNet Education Conference Series is an educational event offered periodically throughout 2023. Each session will explore specialized topics in the field of hematology, featuring talks and discussions from leading pediatric critical care, transfusion medicine and hematology experts. 

Target Audience

The target audience for this series includes physicians, fellows and healthcare providers who have an interest in pediatric critical care and hematology. 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe immune dysfunction physiology in the critically ill patient population. 
  • Distinguish between immune suppressive and hyperinflammatory conditions seen in the critically ill population. 
  • Discuss CAR T Cell therapy and therapies for cytokine release. 
  • Evaluate considerations for the uses of immunomodulatory agents in the critically ill patient.
