Management of Pediatric Respiratory Syndromes
This course for the interdisciplinary health care team (RN, MD, APP, EMS) provides a review of the clinical pathways and treatment for common respiratory illnesses in children. The course also includes case study presentations and discussion on respiratory distress, causes, treatment and escalation of care procedures for pediatric patients.

Learner Outcomes
As a result of this activity, learners will be able to report new knowledge related to management of respiratory illness in order to provide current, evidence-based care to pediatric patients.
Learning Objectives
- Review the airway and signs/symptoms of respiratory distress in pediatric patients
- Discuss the causes and standard treatment of common pediatric respiratory diseases
- Review escalation of care of pediatric respiratory emergencies including triggers for transferring patients and changing levels of support
