Pediatric Disaster Preparedness

This course for the interdisciplinary health care team (RN, MD, APP, EMS) provides a review of disaster events with respect to health care professional preparedness. Dr. Kim discusses the scope of the problem and why pediatric patients are especially prone to poorer outcomes in disaster events. The course also covers high-priority actions health care providers can take to reduce pediatric morbidity and mortality in disaster events.

As a result of this activity, learners will be able to report new knowledge related to disaster readiness in order to provide current, evidence-based care to pediatric patients.
