OUTREACH EVENT
Overview and Target Audience
This activity is for interdisciplinary healthcare team members caring for pediatric patients in a variety of settings. We will provide clinical updates and address current topics relevant to care for pediatric patients.
Learner Outcome
At the conclusion of the education day, learners will:
- Demonstrate increased knowledge related to the care of pediatric patients as evidenced by improvements in pre-post confidence scores.
- Apply pediatric management strategies through case study analysis and perform key pediatric skills in return demonstrations.
Learning Objectives
- Learning Objectives: Summarize key differences between pediatric and adult anatomy and physiology that impact assessment.
- Discuss interventions for pediatric patients in respiratory distress and failure.
- Perform evidence-based pediatric interventions such as: IV/1O access, rapid fluid administration, suctioning, seizure management, and sepsis management.
