Precepting for Excellence: APP Preceptor Workshop
This workshop will be hosted with In-Person attendance only. Space is limited.
This workshop will NOT be providing professional credit for your participation. General attendance will be provided with completion of the evaluation.
This half-day interactive workshop is designed for clinicians who precept advanced practice professionals in neonatal and pediatric settings. Participants will gain practical tools and evidence-based strategies to enhance teaching effectiveness, provide meaningful feedback, and create engaging clinical learning environments.
Through collaborative discussion and real-world application, this workshop supports preceptors in delivering high-quality education while maintaining sustainable clinical practice. There will be large group content, break-out sessions, and AI avatar small group activities to provide a variety of learning experiences.
AI Avatar Small Group Activity Overview - This two-hour interactive workshop introduces core principles of effective feedback delivery, including characteristics of high-quality feedback, introduction to the Ask-Tell-Ask framework, and practical implementation tips. Participants will apply these concepts through hands-on practice with AI-powered avatars, allowing them to simulate realistic feedback conversations and receive immediate, guided coaching in a low-stakes environment.
This small group activity is provided as a part of workshop participation.
Target Audience
The (Advanced Practice Professionals (APP) preceptor Workshop is intended for clinicians who precept APPs. APPs, physicians, and other clinicians interesting in improving their knowledge and skills are invited to attend. Total participants limited to 32 due to small group activities.
This course is designed to equip clinicians with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to effectively educate, precept, and mentor advanced practice professionals, fostering excellence in neonatal and pediatric care, and clinical learning.

Utilize structured approaches to provide clear, actionable feedback
Adapt teaching styles to meet diverse learner needs and levels
Implement sustainable precepting practices that support long-term engagement
Identify and apply key principles of effective feedback delivery.
Build a better feedback sandwich to promote meaningful feedback dialogue.
Apply feedback delivery skills in realistic scenarios using AI-powered avatars.
