School Health Nurse: Tracheostomies, Ventilators, Oxygen and More (Central Lines and Delegation) Oh My
LIVE IN-PERSON ACTIVITY

Overview, Target Audience, and Learner Outcome
This educational program is designed for school health nurses who care for medically complex children and will include evidence-based practices for the daily care of pediatric patients with tracheostomy care and emergency response, ventilator and oxygen management, central venous catheter (CVC) care and maintenance and safe delegation practices within interdisciplinary teams. It includes both didactic instruction, case-based scenarios, and hands-on skills training.
Upon completion of the program, participants will report increased knowledge and an intent to apply this learning to their practice when caring for a student with oxygen therapy, tracheostomies, ventilators and CVCs in the school environment. They will also report an increase in comfort in delegating these tasks to a UAP in the school setting.
