Learning Objectives
- Review the background and embryologic development of myelomeningocele (MMC)
- Identify prenatal evaluation of fetal MMC.
- Determine the specific fetal intervention procedures (open vs fetoscopic) for MMC, related risks/complications, and implications for future pregnancies.
- Discuss postoperative patient care and activity
- Summarize newborn evaluation, care/treatment and long-term outcomes.
