Children's Hospital Colorado is obligated to create and rehearse yearly emergency action plans for contracted event coverage. Yearly field training on emergency response, communication, team roles, and emergency skills is essential for department preparedness.

Learning Objectives

  • Provide high quality education and review on rare and serious medical emergencies.
  • Recognize emergency situations and demonstrate proficiency rendering acute care.
  • Develop & practice strong closed-loop communication skills for team members.
  • Provide realistic scenarios for hands on training with competency skill checks.

Children’s Hospital Colorado (BOC AP#: P3765) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 3 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

 

A general certificate of attendance will be given to all other care providers.
