When to Refer: Pediatric Cardiology and POTS in Primary Care

The Physician Relations Lecture Series is an educational event offered periodically throughout 2025. Each session will explore specialized topics in the field of pediatric medicine, featuring talks and discussions from leading experts.

Physicians, Advanced Practice and other interested Community healthcare providers and clinicians
Learning Objectives
- Identify key symptoms and clinical signs that indicate a need for referral to pediatric cardiology.
- Understand the diagnostic criteria for POTS and differentiate it from other conditions with similar presentations in the pediatric population.
- Apply initial management strategies for POTS in the primary care setting before referral, including lifestyle modifications and pharmacologic options.
- Coordinate ongoing care and follow-up with pediatric cardiology specialists to ensure comprehensive management.
