Target Audience:

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Physicians.

Global Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Apply evidence-based strategies for direct observation, learner supervision, and competency-based feedback in the clinical setting.
• Integrate teaching, patient care, and documentation responsibilities to enhance educational effectiveness in busy ambulatory practice environments.
• Implement approaches that support learner development, progressive autonomy, and a positive learning climate. Apply current evidence-based pediatric guidelines and best practices to patient care.
• Analyze challenging clinical and educational cases to identify opportunities for improvement in teaching and patient outcomes.
• Incorporate shared best practices and peer learning into clinical teaching and patient care activities.
• Develop a strategic approach to academic promotion by identifying opportunities for educational scholarship, mentorship, sponsorship, and effective documentation of academic accomplishments.
• Apply institutional promotion criteria to create an individualized plan for academic career advancement.

ABP MOC2 Credit: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 10.0 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
