Target Audience:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Physicians.
Global Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Apply evidence-based strategies for direct observation, learner supervision, and competency-based feedback in the clinical setting.
- Integrate teaching, patient care, and documentation responsibilities to enhance educational effectiveness in busy ambulatory practice environments.
- Implement approaches that support learner development, progressive autonomy, and a positive learning climate. Apply current evidence-based pediatric guidelines and best practices to patient care.
- Analyze challenging clinical and educational cases to identify opportunities for improvement in teaching and patient outcomes.
- Incorporate shared best practices and peer learning into clinical teaching and patient care activities.
- Develop a strategic approach to academic promotion by identifying opportunities for educational scholarship, mentorship, sponsorship, and effective documentation of academic accomplishments.
- Apply institutional promotion criteria to create an individualized plan for academic career advancement.
