Overview, Target Audience and Learner Outcome:
This activity for sonographers and other interested healthcare team members will include pediatric scanning techniques, cardiac structures of interest, and neonatal echo emergencies. In addition to a presentation from content experts, attendees will participate in case study review and discussion to provide direction on clinical practice. As a result of this activity, learners will be able to self-report new knowledge related to pediatric echocardiography in order to provide current, evidence-based care to pediatric patients.
Global Objectives:
- Identify key pediatric cardiac structures and differentiate normal from abnormal findings across neonatal, infant, and pediatric developmental stages.
- Recognize urgent pediatric and neonatal echocardiography findings - such as ductal-dependent lesions, critical congenital heart disease, and postoperative complications.
Continuing Education Credit:
Registration, attendance, and evaluation are required for successful completion to obtain professional continuing education credit.
