This virtual educational activity is designed to enhance the knowledge of school nurses and childcare health consultants in the management of students with Type 1 diabetes. current evidence-based practices, diabetes technologies, nutritional strategies, psychosocial considerations, and collaborative school-healthcare partnerships that support optimal health outcomes and academic success.

Target Audience

School Nurses, Child Care Health Consultants, Registered Nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care and support of school-aged children with Type 1 diabetes.

Learner Outcome

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Report increased knowledge of the school nurse's role in supporting safe diabetes management in the school setting.
  • Report increased knowledge in recognizing psychosocial concerns and identifying appropriate school-based support and referral processes.
  • Correctly identify factors affecting glucose management and select appropriate interventions in quiz questions and case-based scenarios.
