We are excited to announce the 21st Society of Pediatric Radiology Basic Course in Pediatric Cardiac MRI and 19th Advanced Course in Pediatric Cardiac MRI led by an international Faculty of the SPR and SCMR and held at Children’s Hospital Colorado from October 7-12 2025!
Abstract Submission
We are currently accepting abstracts for clinical cases and scientific studies and can be on any topic relating to pediatric CMR. Accepted abstracts will be presented as posters or in a rapid-fire abstract session. The winner will receive a free registration to next year's course.

21st Basic Course in Pediatric Cardiac MRI (October 7-9, 2025)
Are you looking at starting or growing a pediatric cardiac MR practice? If so the Basic Course in Pediatric CMR is designed to prepare you to become an independent practitioner by teaching you the fundamentals of pediatric CMR with live hands-on scanning experience, post processing, pediatric CMR reporting, interpretation and direct mentorship from an expert Faculty.
There is a 24 person capacity for the Hands-on/Basic Course which you must be invited to attend. Please CLICK HERE to complete a short application if you would like to attend the Basic Course. If you are accepted into the Society of Pediatric Radiology (SPR) Basic Course, you will be automatically registered for the SPR Advanced Course as well. A member of the Children's Hospital Colorado Planning Committee will reach out to you directly with further instructions.
19th Advanced Course in Pediatric Cardiac MRI (October 10-12, 2025)
The advanced course in Pediatric CMR is designed for practitioners who have undergone the basic course in Pediatric CMR, who are practitioners of pediatric CMR or who would like to expand their knowledge of certain aspects of advanced pediatric CMR.
The advanced course will build on fundamentals by helping solve pediatric CMR dilemmas, suggesting areas of program development, discussing advanced CMR techniques, providing recent updates from congenital heart disease CMR research and delivering expert surgical and catheterization perspectives.
This years advanced course also features a special fetal CMR focus, that includes fetal CMR scanning, how to start a fetal CMR program, techniques and interpretation.

Special Rates for Low-Income Countries
Low-income registration pricing is set aside for attendees who live in World Bank-designated low- and low-middle income countries. The registration rate is less than 50% lower than the published rates noted above*. Cancellation Policy
Online refunds may be processed through September 23, 2025 minus a $150 cancellation fee. After this date no refunds will be granted for non-attendance.
Target Audience
For the Basic Course:
Radiologists, cardiologists and trainees aiming to learn pediatric CMR for the assessment of congenital heart disease and pediatric cardiovascular disorders.
For the Advanced Course:
Radiologists, cardiologists, trainees, scientists and technologists aiming to increase their knowledge of pediatric and fetal CMR for the assessment of congenital heart disease and pediatric cardiovascular disorders.
Learning Objectives
Basic Course Objectives:
- Describe pediatric cardiac MR acquisition, sequences and optimization via didactic lectures and hands-on scanning.
- Identify indications, post-processing, analysis and reporting of cases via didactic lectures and hands-on experience.
- Interpret the indications for pediatric CMR including, tetralogy of Fallot, aortopathies, single ventricle lesions, cardiac masses and lots more.
- Formulate professional mentorships by a panel of international CMR experts in a welcoming environment.
Advanced Course Objectives:
- List the up-to-date CMR applications and advanced CMR sequences via didactic lectures from a panel of international CMR experts.
- Discuss the latest exciting results emerging from Pediatric CMR research trials
- Demonstrate fetal CMR strategies
- Create a network of other pediatric CMR practitioners in this close environment and become part of the uniquely collegial pediatric CMR community.
- Demonstrate pediatric cardiac CT strategies.
This course will be offered in-person at Children's Hospital Colorado Medical Conference and Education Center on the Anschutz Campus. Further information regarding logistics and other activities to join at the conference will be provided prior to the event.
