8th Annual Advanced Care of the Young Athlete Symposium
This year’s symposium will focus on upper extremity injuries, as well as updates on the care of sports-related concussions in young athletes. Clinicians across disciplines including physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, and athletic trainers will benefit from improved competence and clinical performance in caring for young athletes facing these injuries, including diagnosis, treatment, return to sport and injury prevention.

Target Audience
This education program is primarily oriented towards physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, registered nurses and athletic trainers.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the multidisciplinary management of upper extremity injuries including peripheral nerve injuries and elbow and shoulder injuries in young athletes.
- Describe the latest evidence regarding rest, physical activity, sleep and exercise following concussion.
- Identify the approach to a young athlete with persisting concussion symptoms, including medical, rehabilitation, and neuropsychological care.
