May 14, 2026

Please Save the Date for May 14, 2026!

Developmental Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Colorado is looking to expand their already active partnerships with Primary Care Providers to support autistic youth and their families across the state of Colorado.  We are excited to offer our 2nd Annual Autism Extravaganza in Glenwood Springs! Join us for this interactive, full-day workshop to build knowledge and skills and strengthen our community partnerships.

The Autism Extravaganza equips primary care providers with practical tools and knowledge to identify, diagnose, and manage autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and its common co-occurring conditions within the primary care setting. With the rising prevalence of autism and limited access to subspecialty care, providers are increasingly expected to take a more active role in autism care. This course addresses key gaps in training and confidence by offering evidence-based guidance on screening, diagnosis, behavioral management, medication, and family support, empowering providers to deliver comprehensive, informed care within the medical home.

Target Audience

Primary care providers, including pediatricians, family medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants involved in the care of children and adolescents.

Learning Objectives

1| Describe the diagnostic criteria for pediatric autism as outlined in DSM 5

2| Describe diagnostic criteria to be assessed during structured interviews and observations

3| Identify common resource pathways for different presentations of autism

4| Apply individualized therapeutic recommendations and medical management of co-occurring conditions
