Diabetes Management in the School & Childcare Setting
LIVE COURSE
Overview
This educational event will provide updates on how to effectively care for children with type one diabetes in the school or childcare setting. We will discuss utilizing a multidisciplinary care plan, common dietary concerns, and the impact of type one diabetes on mental health. Participants will also have exposure to common diabetic devices such as CGMs, insulin pumps and rescue medication trainers.

Target Audience
The target audience for this course is Registered Nurses, school health aides, diabetes resource nurses, and others working with kids with diabetes.
Learner Outcome
After attending this event, participants will report increased knowledge and confidence related to caring for children with diabetes in the school/childcare setting. Participants will successfully demonstrate insulin dosage calculations and operation of diabetes devices seen in the school/childcare setting.
